About LAB Prep

LAB PREP

Leadership. Academics. Basketball.

Preparation!

One look at the LAB PREP Camp and you will see the similarities to the great teaching and instructional camps in the 70s and 80s. The founders of LAB PREP Camp, John Carroll and James Cormier, were fortunate to be around tremendous basketball teachers along their basketball journey and, in James' case, in their homes. James' father was longtime Dartmouth College Head Coach, Paul Cormier. As a result of this experience, John Carroll at Northfield Mount Hermon and James Cormier at Cushing Academy have become 2 of the best coaches in New England and in the country.

Co-director John Carroll has coached more Ivy League players (35) over the past 10 years than any other coach in the United States and has coached over 60 Division 1 players. He is currently head coach at Northfield Mount Hermon School. NMH has been to 10 straight National Championship tournaments and have won 4 New England (NEPSAC AAA) titles in the past 7 years.
Co-Director James Cormier was an assistant coach at Dartmouth College where he developed and recruited back-to-back Ivy League Rookies of the Year. He is currently head coach at Cushing Academy where he led them to the 2017 New England (NEPSAC AAA) Championship.

This year, John Carroll and James Cormier have partnered ESPN Analyst & New England Recruiting Report founder Adam Finkelstein to add to the LAB PREP camp experience.

The staff will include current and former Ivy League, NCAA Division 1 players and Division 3 coaches.

Players will receive immediate feedback during instructional drills that will emphasize expectations for college level basketball. This camp will focus on skill development and game play, but will also help athletes prepare to do perform in an evaluation environment in their upcoming elite and exposure camps. There will be individual feedback on court as each player will receive an evaluation after every on court session. Everything at LAB Prep will focus on the player's preparation for success during the Summer and school year seasons.
